VII Workshop on Data Science

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The general purpose of the workshop is to promote the dissemination of knowledge on Management, Analysis, and Visualization Techniques in Scientific Large-Scale Databases that can contribute to solving some of the challenges in the contemporary context of open science in Brazil.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

• Promote the importance of large-scale open data management for scientific datasets related to atmospheric phenomena;
• Empower graduate students and researchers with next-generation data management techniques and large-scale data analysis architectures. Hands-on training sessions and lectures will be offered throughout the workshop;
• Participants will gain knowledge from real-world data management and scientific data analysis using tools;
• During the event, hands-on sessions will promote techniques and data management mechanisms that facilitate access, integration, sharing, computing, modeling, and visualization of all the datasets collected in the project named “Modelagem e Análise de Processos de Controle de GEE na Amazônia e Sistema de Informação de Ciência de Dados“, supported by the São Paulo State Agency for Scientific Research, FAPESP (2020/15230-5), and the project “Free-Air CO2 Enrichment (FACE)” in Amazon (AmazonFACE). Knowledge and technical solutions gained at the workshop can be applied to past atmospheric and earth system datasets collected in Brazil. Projects such as the Large Scale Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment in Amazonia – LBA can benefit from exploring the latest data analysis and visualizations.
